Ex- Premier League Player Thomas Partey Denies Sexual Assault Charges
Ex-Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has pleaded not guilty to raping multiple complainants and engaging in non-consensual acts with a third woman.
The Ghanaian midfielder entered denials to multiple charges of rape and one charge of sexual assault when he stood before judges at Southwark Crown Court.
The alleged offences took place between 2021 and 2022, when the 32-year-old was active in the English top flight. He was formally accused several days after departing from the London-based team, following the expiration of his playing agreement at the summer period.
Mr Partey was granted bail until his court case, which is scheduled to begin at the same court on November 2nd next year.
He spoke to confirm his identity before pleading not guilty to each of the charges made against him.
The professional player, who now plays Spanish side Villareal, was already in England as his new team faced Spurs in the Champions League on Tuesday. He came on as a replacement in what turned out to be a 1-0 loss for his side.
The terms of his bail do not restrict Mr Partey from continuing his professional career, but he must notify police of any international travel one day in advance and must not contact the alleged victims.
