An extensive internet disruption has affected dozens sites and apps worldwide, as users noting problems accessing the internet after problems at Amazon’s web hosting service.
The affected services include Snapchat, Roblox, the messaging service Signal, and Duolingo, along with multiple Amazon-owned services including its primary shopping website and the Ring doorbell home security firm.
In the UK, the financial institution Lloyds was impacted as well as its subsidiaries the bank Halifax and Bank of Scotland, and further notifications of problems using the HM Revenue and Customs site on that morning. Also in the UK, multiple Ring customers turned to social media to complain their doorbells were malfunctioning.
